Call us now: 888-381-9646     Application Note Sports Bar                                   Challenge                                   Provide  affordable, intuitive control in the ever-changing, often-cluttered and  challenging world of a Sports Bar, where AV is mission critical.                                                               Solution User Interface.  Sports bars often have no tolerance for  hand-held remote controls, which tend to be unreliable in such environments,  and little room and limited budgets for dedicated touch screens.  Fortunately, they often have the right  infrastructure already in place for an ideal graphical user interface.  Namely, the PC’s, touch screens and networks  that comprise their existing Point-of-Sale terminals.  Accordingly, Calypso’s encore! control panel software is easily  configured for a custom control interface and loaded onto multiple POS stations  throughout the facility, responding only to the manager’s ID.  Now that’s open architecture!                                                                 Control a Stack of Satellite Receivers.  IR  control of DirecTV, Comcast and similar receivers becomes a snap with Calypso’s  CR-1200R 1 x 12 IR router.  The router  receives a “steering” command from the main controller, an ION-LT2 in this  case, telling it to send the subsequent command to any one or all 12 IR  outputs.                                                                   Control Audio  and Video Routers.  The AV  routers in the mix make it easy to send video from any one source to multiple displays  just as audio is sent in other directions.   But only if you have integrated control and an intuitive interface.  The encore! interface running on the POS  terminals trigger serial router commands stored on the ION-LT2 controller,  which are sent to the audio and video routers.
