Application Note

Cruise Ship Lounge Challenge Provide affordable, intuitive control in the ever-changing and space-challenged world of a Cruise Ship Lounge. Solution- User Interface. With so many video and audio routing options, flexibility is the key to the user interface in this environment. Fortunately, a graphical user interface is developed easily and quickly using Calypso’s encore! software, running on a Windows PC, with a Touch104 touch screen fixed behind the bar.
- Control Multiple AV Source Devices. IR control of DirecTV, Comcast and similar receivers, DVD Players, VCR’s (yes … still in use) and CATV tuners becomes a snap with Calypso’s CR-1200R 1 x 12 IR router. The router receives a “steering” command from the main controller, an ION-LT2 in this case, telling it to send the subsequent command to any one or all 12 IR outputs.
- Control Audio and Video Routers. The AV routers in the mix make it easy to send video from any one source to multiple displays just as audio is sent in other directions. But only if you have integrated control and an intuitive interface. The encore! interface running on the Touch104 screen triggers serial router commands stored on the ION-LT2 controller, which are sent to the audio and video routers.
- Integrated Audio. The CA-1050 Pre-Amp from Calypso takes up to 4 audio inputs and passes line-level output to a powerful amplifier. With serial and IR control for volume control, the 1050 ties fully integrated audio back to the encore! Interface.
